Hey, I'm Zak! I'm a graphic designer, photographer, and programmer that's been practically glued to computers & design since my childhood. As a kid, I took a sketchpad with me absolutely everywhere I went and sketched to fill up my time. I've got old Microsoft Word documents with typed up rules for board games, accompanied with their personal game boards I mocked up with construction paper and markers.
I began using Photoshop to make personal graphics for friends of mine around 13, and have loved designing digital content ever since. To supplement my illustrations and ideas, I took up programming and began designing multiplayer games that I had outlined. A good friend of mine who's a back-end developer always contacts me the creative direction of personal projects of his, which has given me the opportunity to experiment with wireframing and UI design.
All of this to say: I live and breathe computer-related design. In December 2019, I was responsible for the graphic design of My Class Rewards, a web application that went on to receive first place in the Congressional App Challenge, a Computer Science competition hosted by Congress representatives. I've completed a certification in Foundations of User Experience (UX) Design, an online course authorized by Google that focuses on key UX principles.
The end goal for me is to secure a career as a UX Designer. The work required of UX design lead is not only what I'm good at — it's what I love doing.
