I've done quite a bit of experimenting with Discord Bots, with the intent of creating hobby projects for small servers rather than shipping them for general purpose servers. EcoBot is built with the Discord.js library and was meant to gamify Discord's role system with an in-depth economy and "rank-ups". The bot featured buying "virtual stocks" by that pulled real-world data from finance APIs, graphs to indicate trends, temporary boosts and perks for particular upgrade paths, daily rewards, peer-to-peer transactions and a stand-out loot box system. Technologies included NodeJS and a MySQL database.
